Slash’s Snakepit was a rock band which was a side-project formed by then-Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson) in 1994. On their first album, Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rythm guitar) and Dizzy Reed (keyboard) from Guns N’ Roses played in this band. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.
GN’R colleague Teddy Andreadis also appeared on the record playing harmonica & keyboards respectively.
Slash is stating that he wanted the band to simply be called “Snakepit”, which was the name of his home studio, but the record company insisted they add his name to it to help increase sales.
It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, their first album, was released in 1995
