
Supertramp is an English progressive rock and pop band that had a series of top-selling albums in the 1970s. The name was taken from W. H. Davies’ 1908 novel The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp.
Their early period music consisted of ambitious concept albums, but they are best known for their pop songs including “Dreamer”, “Give A Little Bit”, “Goodbye Stranger”, and “The Logical Song”.
Dutch millionaire Stanley August Miesegaes gave Rick Davies the opportunity to form his own band back in 1969. After two albums the moneyman left and the band was up to it for themselves.
Their third album, Crime of the Century, considered by many to be their first real album, was a leap forward in song-writing and execution.
