
Unwritten Law may be one of two bands;
The first being a garage/punk band from california in the 1960’s
The second being an American pop punk band that started in 1990.
They broke out in 1999 for their best known single “Cailin,” which appeared in the movie Coyote Ugly. “Seein’ Red” followed in 2002, and the single “Save Me” was released in December 2004, appearing on their album Here’s to the Mourning.
Coming out of San Diego, California, Unwritten Law has a power punk sound all of its own. The band features two guitar players, including Scott Russo, their chief songwriter and lead vocalist. Unwritten Law has stated that they play most of their songs acoustically before recording in the studio. This unorthodox approach towards punk music is perhaps one of their most unusual attributes.
